My story

It has been quite a journey to get here

Before No Worry Websites I ran an O2 shop, two CeX stores and a mobile repair business. Here is how I got from there to building websites for small businesses.

2007

From the theatre to my own O2 shop

After a career in theatre front of house, looking after audiences on show nights and selling for the theatres, I wanted to do it for myself. I partnered with O2 and opened a brand new O2 shop in Wellingborough in 2007, moving to a larger shop over the road in 2012. I ran it for ten years and loved helping customers and learning to run a business.

Two new stores

CeX stores and a repair workshop

At the end of the franchise I opened two stores with the second hand retailer CeX, one in Northampton and one in Oxford. Some phones and tablets came back to the stores faulty, so I learnt how to repair them and set up a repair workshop so they could be resold.

On the road

Phone Paramedics and Repair Not Replace

The repair side was going well, so I sold the shops and opened Phone Paramedics, a mobile phone and tablet repair van that fixed devices outside customers’ homes and workplaces. We renamed it Repair Not Replace as we took on computers and games consoles too.

A £10,000 quote

Learning to build websites

After seven years we needed a new website. Because of its size we were quoted around £10,000, which we did not have. So I enrolled on a college course and learnt web design, and later AI automations, myself.

Networking

Business Buzz Kettering

I found I loved designing websites, and my senior technician wanted to move on, so we sold Repair Not Replace after seven years. I took on the Business Buzz networking franchise for Kettering, and I still host a networking event at Wicksteed Park on the first Thursday of every month with two colleagues.

No Worry Websites

I remember how hard it is when you are starting out. You rarely have lots of money for a website or know how to build one properly. So I started No Worry Websites to do everything for small businesses on a simple monthly fee, so they can focus on growing their business. I have since added AI automations that answer calls, book appointments and create social media, giving small businesses the same time saving tools as larger ones.
