A pay monthly website for a Bedfordshire small business costs from £34.99 a month with us, and that covers a custom-designed 8 page site, a free domain name, an SSL certificate and the changes you ask for each month. Larger sites run up to £99.99 a month for 28 pages. There is no upfront bill. This guide shows what you pay at each size, which extras can change the total, and what to check before you sign with anyone, whether you trade in Bedford, Luton, Dunstable, Leighton Buzzard or a village in between.
TL;DR
- Our pay monthly websites run from £34.99 a month (8 pages) to £99.99 a month (28 pages), with no upfront cost.
- The free domain name, SSL certificate and monthly changes are part of the plan, not add-ons.
- Extra pages cost £5.99 to £9.99 a month each, and extra email accounts cost £5 a month.
- If you already have a site, hosting and maintenance is £10 a month (1-9 pages) or £15 a month (10-19 pages), and ad hoc work starts at £29.99 a month.
- Judge any provider on the full monthly figure, what changes are included and how easy it is to leave.

What a pay monthly website really is
A pay monthly website replaces the large one-off invoice with a fixed monthly fee. Instead of paying a designer a lump sum, then paying again for hosting, updates and support, you pay one amount each month and the provider looks after the site.
For a Bedfordshire business this suits several situations. A new start-up in Bedford may want to keep cash for stock, tools or a van. A sole trader in Luton may be too busy on jobs to learn a website builder. A shop in Ampthill may have a site that is five years old and nobody to update it.
The model has a trade-off. You rent the service rather than buy an asset, so over many years the total can pass what a one-off build would have cost. In return you get ongoing help and a much lower barrier to starting. If you want to run the numbers on both routes, our comparison of monthly versus upfront websites sets them side by side.

Our pay monthly prices at a glance
These are the prices published on our pay monthly website plans page. Each plan is a custom website, not a template dropped in with your logo.
| Plan | Price per month |
|---|---|
| 8 Page Website | £34.99 |
| 10 Page Website | £49.99 |
| 17 Page Website | £69.99 |
| 19 Page Website | £79.99 |
| 23 Page Website | £89.99 |
| 28 Page Website | £99.99 |
Every plan includes a free domain name, an SSL certificate, personal guidance and the monthly changes you request. We also host on green hosting as standard.
How many pages do you need?
Most small businesses need fewer pages than they think. A page is a separate screen on the site, such as Home, About, Contact or a single service.
- 8 pages suits a sole trader or a new business: Home, About, Contact, Gallery or Reviews, and three or four service pages.
- 10 to 19 pages suits a business with a wider range of services, or one that wants a page for each town it covers, such as Bedford, Kempston, Biggleswade and Flitwick.
- 23 to 28 pages suits firms with many services, several team members, case studies or a lot of product information.
A separate page for each main service tends to serve visitors better than one long page listing everything. It also gives each service its own place in search results. If you are unsure, start smaller. Adding a page later is simple and costs £5.99 to £9.99 a month, depending on the page.
What else can add to the monthly cost
The headline price is only part of the picture with any provider, so here is every extra we publish.
| Extra | Price |
|---|---|
| Add an extra page | £5.99 to £9.99 per month |
| Extra email accounts | £5 per month |
| 360 Video Filmed | £69.99 one-off |
| AI Logo Creations | £39.99 one-off |
| Digital Business Card | £2.49 per month |
You do not need any of these to launch. A logo can be useful if you are starting from scratch, and a digital business card is a cheap way to share your details at networking events around Bedford or Milton Keynes.
If you already have a website
Not everyone needs a new build. If your site is fine but nobody looks after it, there are two routes:
- Hosting and maintenance: £10 a month for 1 to 9 pages, or £15 a month for 10 to 19 pages.
- Ad hoc work: £29.99 a month for one hour of changes, or £39.99 a month for two hours.
That suits the plumber whose phone number changed, or the café that needs a new menu every season and has no time to log in and do it.
What to compare when you collect quotes
The price on the front page rarely tells you what you will pay by month three. When you compare providers, local agencies, freelancers or online services, put the same questions to each.
1. Is there a setup fee?
Some pay monthly plans advertise a low monthly figure and then add a setup charge of a couple of hundred pounds. That changes the real cost of the first year. With us there is no upfront cost.
2. Is VAT included?
Many providers quote prices excluding VAT. If you are not VAT registered, you cannot reclaim it, so a quoted £35 can become £42 in real money. Ask for the figure you will actually pay, and check whether the quote says “plus VAT”.
3. Are changes included, and how many?
Words like “unlimited updates” can hide limits on size or turnaround. Ask what counts as a change, how you request one and how long it takes. We make the changes for you each month, and you can speak directly to the person managing your site.
4. Who owns the domain name?
Your domain is your business address online. Make sure it is registered in your name or that you can take it with you if you leave. A domain you do not control is a serious problem if the relationship ends.
5. What happens if you want to leave?
Read the notice period and ask what you can take with you. A good provider explains this plainly before you commit, not after.
6. Is hosting and email covered?
A site that looks cheap can need separate hosting, an SSL certificate and business email. Add these up before you compare. Our own hosting is green by default, and you can read more on our green hosting and email and hosting pages.
A worked example: a Bedford electrician
Take a hypothetical sole-trader electrician in Bedford who covers the town and nearby villages. They want a site that explains their services, shows photos of recent work and lets customers get in touch.
A sensible structure would be 8 pages: Home, About, Contact, Domestic Electrics, Commercial Electrics, EV Charger Installation, Reviews and a Gallery. That is the £34.99 a month plan, which comes to £419.88 over twelve months, with the domain and SSL included.
If business grows and they want separate pages for Kempston, Elstow and Wootton, they can move up to the 10 Page Website at £49.99 a month, or add pages one at a time at £5.99 to £9.99 a month each. They never face a rebuild bill, because the site grows with the business.
This is an illustration of how the pricing works, not a customer case.

Our view: why we built it this way
We started No Worry Websites because we kept meeting small business owners who had been quoted a large sum for a site, or had paid it and then found every small change cost extra. They did not want a lecture on technology. They wanted a site that worked and a person to ring when it did not.
So we built the offer around three things. First, no upfront cost, because the first months of a business are when cash matters most. Second, all setup and monthly changes done for you, because the time-poor owner is exactly the person who will not find an evening to edit a page. Third, direct access to the person managing your site, because explaining a problem to a ticketing system is slower than a short message to someone who knows your site.
We are also honest about the limits. A pay monthly plan is a service you subscribe to, and you should weigh that against buying outright if you plan to keep a site unchanged for many years. If you do want a hands-off site that stays current, the monthly model is hard to beat. Our guide to custom websites versus templates explains why we build custom rather than reskin a template.

Costs that sit outside any website plan
Some obligations apply to nearly every UK business website, whoever builds it.
- A privacy notice. If your site collects names or email addresses, for example through a contact form, the ICO says small organisations that hold personal data need a privacy notice. The ICO also offers a free tool to create your own privacy notice designed for sole traders and start-ups.
- Cookie rules. If your site uses cookies beyond the strictly necessary, the ICO’s guidance on cookies and similar technologies explains what you must tell visitors and when to ask for consent.
- Your own content. Photos, service descriptions and reviews are the part only you can supply. Good local photos of your own work beat stock images every time.
Ask any provider how they handle these. We include personal guidance, so you can ask us what your site needs.
Beyond the website: add-ons for busy owners
Once the site is live, the next problem is usually time. Calls go unanswered while you are on a job, and enquiries arrive in the evening when you are not looking.
We offer AI services on monthly plans, with the prices published on our AI services page:
- AI Chat Bot: £34.99 a month, answering visitor questions on your site.
- AI Assistant To Answer Calls: from £49.99 a month.
- AI Assistant To Make Calls: from £59.99 a month.
- Find New Clients 24 Hours A Day: from £34.99 a month.
These are optional. Get the website right first, then add one service if you find a clear gap. Our piece on AI assistants as a small business productivity boost shows where they help most.

FAQ
How much should I pay per month for a website?
For a small business, a fully managed site from £34.99 a month is realistic with us, and plans rise with the number of pages, up to £99.99 a month for 28 pages. The right figure depends on how many pages you need and what support is included. Always compare the total monthly amount, including any setup fee and VAT.
Is there a monthly fee for having a website?
Yes, in most cases. Hosting and a domain name have running costs, and anyone maintaining the site charges for their time. With our plans these are rolled into one monthly fee, with the domain and SSL certificate included free.
How much does hosting cost per month on its own?
If you already have a website, our hosting and maintenance is £10 a month for 1 to 9 pages and £15 a month for 10 to 19 pages. Extra email accounts are £5 a month. Check whether a provider’s quote includes email, as it is often charged separately.
What if I only need occasional updates to my existing site?
Our ad hoc plans cover this. One hour of changes a month is £29.99, and two hours is £39.99. It suits businesses whose site is sound but needs regular small edits.
