NN Business News is a business news website covering the whole of Northamptonshire, with news on local businesses, high streets and town centres, business awards, charities, tourism and equality, diversity and inclusion, along with interviews and a Your Voice section for local business owners.
It launched as a brand new website in April 2026, and we were chosen to design and build it.
What NN Business News needed
A news website has a very different job to most business websites. It needs fresh stories going up every week, so the most important thing was that it had to be easy for the editors to add news themselves, quickly and without needing any technical knowledge.
It also had to look professional from day one. A new news website is competing for attention with long established news brands, so it needed to look and feel like a big news site, so readers, businesses and advertisers would take it seriously straight away.
What we did
We designed and built NN Business News from scratch, on our pay monthly plan. That included:
- A news style homepage that pulls in the latest stories automatically, with breaking news, the latest interviews and separate sections for high street news, business awards, equality, diversity and inclusion and more
- A simple way for editors to add and publish stories, with their own editor accounts, so they write the news and the website does the rest
- Categories set up so every story lands in the right section of the website without anyone having to move it
- A design that works on every screen size, as most readers find the news on their phone
- Hosting, security and backups looked after, so the website stays fast and online as more people read it
- Changes and improvements made for them every month as the website grows

Easy for the editors
Because adding a story is so straightforward, the editors have been able to keep the news coming. In the first six months, more than 220 stories have been published, and each one appears in the right places on the homepage automatically, so the website always looks busy and up to date.
