Website care is the work that keeps a WordPress website safe and running: plugin and theme updates, security patches, regular backups, uptime checks, and small regular updates so search engines can see the site is active. It is included in every Pay Monthly Website from £34.99 a month plus VAT. If you just want your existing website hosted and kept updated, hosting only from £10 a month plus VAT includes plugin updates, maintenance and security patches.

Why WordPress websites need looking after

A WordPress website is built from a core, a theme and a set of plugins, and each one gets regular updates. Skip them and security holes stay open. Run them carelessly and one update can break a contact form or a booking page without anyone noticing. We do the updates for you and check the website afterwards, so problems are put right before your customers find them. WordPress updates arrive every few weeks, so this is ongoing work rather than a one-off job. You never need to log in, and you never get an email asking you to update something you don’t understand.

Backups, security and uptime

Every website we look after runs over https with a free SSL certificate, has basic protection to help keep hackers out, and is backed up regularly so it can be restored if something goes wrong. We also check that websites are up and working properly. If you need more security than the basic level, extra protection is available at an additional cost, so just ask.
