Do I Own The Website?
After 18 months with us the website is yours, if you want to you can then copy it and host it yourself if you wish. You will need to get licences for the photos we have used but we can tell you where all these are from. Any photos or text you supply is yours and the domain name is yours. You can stay with us, the costs are the same. Every 24 months we offer a free refresh of your website to give it a new look if you wish.
Are The Images Used Owned By Me?
The photos if used by us, are licensed to us, we can send you a list of where to get the photos if you want to move the website away from us after 18 months. Any photos you provide to us we must see a licence to prove you can use them.
How Many Changes Do I Get Each Month?
The changes are unlimited but subject to a fair usage policy and averaged out over 3 months. We will also ensure the website stays updated and look after any security patches, this is not part of the changes we do this anyway. If the changes take longer one month we do not mind as we can do less the next month. If a lot of work is needed, then we will discuss this with you.
Can I Make Changes To The Website Myself?
Yes you can, we will give you a log in and give you a tour of how to make changes if you want, but we are happy to do them for you.
How Quickly Will Changes Be Made?
We work Monday to Friday and will do the changes as soon as we can, it is normally within a day or two.
I Do Not Know What I Need My Website To Do?
That is fine, we have a video call or face to face meeting with you to go through what the website needs, we can help.
Is The Website Hosting Green?
Yes we use green hosting so your website will be better for the environment. Our green hosing is certified by Green Web Foundation and Websitecarbon.com. You can have a badge for your website.
Will My Website Get To The Top Of Search Engines & ChatGPT?
We will build the website with this in mind, including key words you want to rank for and we recommend an FAQ list. However whilst we will put in the building blocks we cannot guarantee your website will rank highly, this depends on the competition for those keywords and many other factors, normally on-going SEO is needed and we can quote for this if you would like help with this.
Where Do I Find My Email?
You will be able to access your email online through a web page. If you wish we can help setting this up to go to your phone and anywhere else you would like.
Is My Website Secure?
All websites are built using https and we will provide you with a free ssl certificate whilst with us. We will also do a basic back up and put protection to try and stop hackers. We can offer additional protection for an additional cost, just ask us.
Do I Need To Know Anything About Websites?
No we will do everything for you, you are of course welcome to make changes yourself and we will show you how as well if you wish.
How Many Pages Do I Need?
Search engines do prefer websites that have more content this includes the home page. However we would discuss with you and make a recommendation but the choice is totally yours. To get good ranking you do need text and content, search engines. prioritizes content quality, relevance, and user satisfaction over sheer length; however, longer, in-depth content (often 1,000+ words for articles, less for product pages) tends to rank better because it naturally covers topics thoroughly, answers user intent, and earns more backlinks, but quality always trumps quantity, so aim for comprehensive value, not fluff.
Can I Sell Products Through The Website?
Yes you can, if it is a shop with lots of products (10 or more) we would recommend Shopify, this is extra. If it is just a few subscriptions or a few all packages are fine. If you want us to upload more than 10 products and you do not have them already in Shopify then the minimum package is £99.99 per month plus vat. If you already have the in Shopify we can add that to the website for no extra cost. (Shopify do charge a monthly subscription which you would need to have).
I Need Extra Email Addresses?
No problem, extra email addresses are £5 plus vat per month, to cover the extra bandwidth and data being stored.
Is My Email Unlimited?
We give you quite a big inbox, but it is not unlimited, we recommend you delete old emails that you are no longer using.
Can I Have Video On My Website?
Yes you can, but bear in mind video will take your website longer to load and search engines prefer websites that are quick to load, but some video is great for the users.
Will my email move if I have a domain / web address at the moment?
Your email will move to us. You can still have it going into an email programme like Outlook, and to your phone and we give you free access online (web mail) to your email. When we transfer the domain in we recommend you save any important emails, most people do not lose any emails but we cannot guarantee this as we do not know how your current email is set up. There will be downtime of between half a day and two days maximum, it is usually only a very short time.
If I have a domain (web address) already do I have to move it to you?
Yes, this is free for .co.uk and .uk domains. The reason for this is our low cost model is built on being as efficient as possible and we need to avoid any costly technical support in trying to make your website work with another provider. We also do not want to be in the middle of you and someone else if they website is not working. Having the domain is part of our plan. The domain always belongs to you, this is written into the contract. We cannot build your website without having the domain moved to us. (This will bring over your email to us as well, see FAQ above).
